All the following photos are from the Fendi 2021 Spring Show (look 13)

Fendi, a fashion staple, released their spring 2021 collection. Their show was magnificent, with themes of air and clouds and an open window. The runway was stunning; the walls being lined with a thin white cloth with projections shining images of windows being open and new fresh air comes in while at the same time following the social distancing guidelines. When it comes to the pieces, though, I see Silvia Venturini telling a story of rebirth and new life. When I went to analyze the pieces show at Milan Fashion Week 2020, I saw different groups of outfits that are very similar to each other. Each with their own unique style and own meaning. Rather an interpretation of Silvia Venturini's work.

“Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their days off that are the most intriguing.” — Alexander Wang

There are four categories that I found most predominant in the show; black, gold, blue w/orange, and white. Each of them had many different looks and styles to them that all blend together into this wonderful narrative. The black-colored pieces were all mainly dark black. Not a lot of blending nor highlights of gold seen with these pieces, only dark monochrome black. These pieces also associate with a lot of coats, long dresses, button-up shirts, hats, dark sunglasses, as well as matching shoes. The only thing that I noticed was that some of the looks would have a different color handbag that would stand out. Such as look 46 where the model is wearing a black dress with a red handbag. My thoughts on this portion are that this represents the black abyss of nothingness, like the metaphor found in most myths and legends about creation. The setting stone for the new.

The next group I’d like to talk about is the gold section. This group of looks was seen at the start of the show. Many of these looks had prints of a window sill or an autumn breeze on it. The colors that were depicted were a dark hazel. Many of these pieces shown were very light and transparent. A repeating theme seen with these outfits were the use of transparent cloth. Many of these looks comprise of button-up shirts, shorts, a light transparent covering of some kind, dresses, long jumpsuits, and sunglasses. I think these looks represent the past season of cold. I associate these looks with the season autumn, implying the theme of aging.

A new breath of air, the golden sun awakens from the horizon, as I gaze into the skyline.

The next group I want to talk about is the blue and orange group. Many of the looks in this collection have the colors blue and orange being woven in the pieces rather than having accessories contrasting with the main outfit. An example can be look 31. The model is wearing an orange swimming suit like top with an outer covering of a blue transparent dress. The contrast of these two colors is magnificent when it comes to executing the outfits themselves. They give off a big, bright, and poppy look that would catch anyone’s eye. I associate these looks with the idea of a bright flower. As spring comes, new flowers with bright colors and smells catch the eyes of people coming bye. The flower is also a symbol of new life.

The next group I want to talk about is white. This group of looks appears multiple times throughout the show. Sometimes within the very start, some near the middle, and the end. The ones that I want to talk about are the ones shown near the end of the show. These looks all have some association with clouds. This can be seen with their puffer coats, sweaters, dresses, and even coat. This ending to me represents the clouds in the sky. As spring comes near the end, we see summer appearing for the first time. The sky is bright and blue and the clouds are very easy to distinguish. I believe Silvia Venturini put these looks near the end of the show to make this statement on fashion as we know it. Being confined in an apartment, house, etc., it’s refreshing to see art represent the feeling of openness and freedom.

I couldn’t put every category or look into this blog post, but all of them were very beautiful and extortionary to look at. Many of the hats as well as accessories that the models were wearing were also very unique and stylish themselves. I loved to look 4’s bag that resembles a wooden woven suitcase. Like a basket. As well as look 65’s bag as well. If I were to get one of these pieces, I would want to look 21. The oversized overcoat with the oversized pants and the button-up shirt in the golden/light hazel color made me almost faint. The style that went into it is esculent. I loved the look of the sunglasses as well as the long Fendi logoed socks. The Fendi dark brown bad is also something that I really want to. I also loved the shoes as well.

Being unique isn’t something that’s bad, it’s something that helps one shine the brightest.
